“That’s Swell!”: A Reel Swell Productions Blog features book reviews and author interviews, plus super cool giveaways!
Aside from a variety of writing services, Reel Swell Productions reviews books, movies (on a rare occasion), and television shows. All books are purchased by Julie of Reel Swell Productions. ARC’s are requested or sent to me via snail mail and through a third-party service, such as NetGalley or Edelweiss. I receive books from authors, publishers, and publicity agents in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Reel Swell Productions reviews books in the following genres
- YA (contemporary, historical, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi and paranormal)
- MG (same categories as YA)
- self-published (YA and MG)
At this time, Reel Swell Productions does not review: adult books, horror, non-fiction and graphic novels.
If you are an author, agent, publicist, and/or publisher and would like your book reviewed on “That’s Swell!”, please send an e-mail to: info [at] reelswellproductions.com.
I’m happy to review ARC’s, electronic galleys and finished copies, host author interviews and giveaways.
Reel Swell Productions will try to review books in a timely manner. I tend to post reviews one to two months prior or within the month of the release date. However, I do have time constraints. As of right now, book reviewing or book blogging – whatever you want to call it – is a hobby. I thoroughly enjoy it! However, I work part-time and I write full-time. Other stuff gets in the way of reading books, but I will do the best I can to review your book!
My reviews will often be posted on goodreads and sometimes on Amazon, including a link to the review on Twitter.
All book reviews are based on the opening hook, plot, characters, ending, setting, writing style, and cover. They will include cover art, publication details, author information, and synopsis. I no longer post affiliate links.
Movies and Television:
Reel Swell Productions reviews movies from silent films to current releases. Television shows reviewed include pilot episodes and current shows.
Television and movie reviews are based on the first 10 minutes, plot, characterization, twists, ending and poster. They will include poster art or credited stills, production information, synopsis, reviews from credited sources, a hyperlink to an affiliate and network or production company.
Images are found via the public domain, Microsoft Clipart and Goodreads or purchased by me on Dreamstime, BigStock and 123RF. If you would like permission to use images that I purchased, such as meme buttons, please ask permission first.
