As you’ve gathered….”That’s Swell!” has a new look! I decided to go in a very different direction. Something cleaner, simple and classic. However, I have a writing blog and my old look will be featured there. I’ll premiere that soon!
You’ve probably noticed my extremely long absence. I wrote a story for the DEFY THE DARK contest. I’ve read tons of books. I’ve also interviewed several authors for my HuffPost blog — Ellen Hopkins, Gena Showalter, Blair and Elle Fowler, Kat Zhang, Susan Dennard, Jay Kristoff, Jessica Khoury, Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian — and many more in the works! Sometimes I’m ready to tear my hair out, but it’s been fun!
You may be asking: other than the look…what’s new?
“That’s Swell!” is going to stick to YA and some MG — with an occasional adult novel. But it will be rare. I will no longer have review ratings or different types of reviews, such as: Mini Book Reviews, Short & Sweet Book Reviews, and Dear Diary Reviews. I also have way too much going on to take part in book tours — but I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I was a part of. My last tour was yesterday.
“That’s Swell!” will also feature more discussion of books and reviews of TV shows. ‘Cause as you know…I want to write for TV. I’m going to do the best I can with posting reviews, but I’m in the process of revising my novel and completing a screenplay. My own writing is my number one priority. Someday…I want you to review my book, but that can’t happen if I’m reviewing and reading other novels…and not writing mine.
Thank you for continuing to stop by my blog and leave comments. Thank you for supporting my blog over these last two years! Without my followers and readers “That’s Swell!” wouldn’t be what it is today!! And a big thank you to Cialina of Paper Wings Design Studio for updating my look!

Your new layout looks great!
Oh wow! I loved your previous blog design, of course, but this one is gorgeous! Very nice and clean – it’s lovely! Those sliding post banners are really the new “it” thing to have on blogs these days, aren’t they? I’ve been coveting them for a while now.
I completely understand your motivation for the change of direction on your blog. Your writing needs to come first. And it’s so exciting to hear that you’re close to finishing some cool writing projects!
