Book Cover Crush: Eve by Anna Carey

(Feel free to use my meme button just please link back to me! I spend oodles of time on them! Thanks!!)

I spotted this luscious book over on Down the Rabbit Hole. Amber posted it yesterday for her WoW pick. I thought I would share the cover love.

EVE

Series: Eve Trilogy #1
Author: Anna Carrey
Publisher: HarperCollins Publishers
Published Date: October 4, 2011
Format: Hardcover
Pages: 320
Age Group: Young Adult +

Why do I have a crush on this book cover?

1. The simple title of the book is great. Plus, the script is lovely. I’m guessing Eve is the name of the protagonist and the  girl on the cover.

2. I love the fading colors: the sea green to the hint of light neon blue to the smoky gray. I also like the characters red hair and brown dress.

3.  The bridge. It holds a sense of mystery. I like the fading of it into the background. But it looks like the bridge is up. Oh no! Our heroine is, either, running away from something or toward something beyond the bridge. The running and the bridge up add a great plot device — the ticking clock. Will she make it in time? Or is she too late? The cover has everything going for it: mystery, illusion, fear and hope. Bravo!

The story sounds awesome! As you know, I’m a big fan of dystopian and THE HUNGER GAMES. I hope EVE lives up to the blurb hype. If you are wondering what a broodmare is it’s a female horse used for breeding. Eeek! EVE does sound like many current dystopians: THE HUNGER GAMES, WITHER, MATCHED, DELIRIUM…but I’m definitely interested in reading it!

hmm….I can't say I'm crazy about that font type. I see it everywhere so I'm a bit tired of it, but yes, I think the picture on the cover is gorgeous. And the story does sound awesome.

  2. Whoa. I am SO adding this to my TBR asap! :)

I like this cover. I'm a little worn out on all these similar dystopians lately, but that cover is really drawing me in. I love all the questions you posed about the girl and the bridge.

I am, too. I'm that way with angels. I was looking at my books last night thinking…what can I read that's different. I certainly can see why editors and agents say to not write current trends. The market starts to become saturated with the same kind of books, which sound alike.
